- Don’t let road rage get the best of you
- Welcome hay fever season ~ oh, no!
Let thy speech be short, comprehending much in few words. ~ Ecclesiastes 32:8
Let Thy Speech be Short
I really love this quote for Aries/Gemini. Aries cuts to the chase and Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is the master of words.
At the Table and in the Garden
It’s the first day of Spring ~ enjoy the day! Even if you’re still snow-covered, those little buds are pushing up through the ground and will soon appear. Wherever you are ~ city, suburb, or in the country ~ nature is preparing quite a show.
The Southern Hemisphere is settling into autumn, my favorite season of all. These are the last of your summer days and nature will soon have a spectacular show for you, too.
In warmer areas, it’s awfully tempting to get outside. (Got a good garden hat?) It is the beginning of hay fever season, though, so you might get pollinated. I’ve been watching my neighbors spruce up their yards and the nurseries are abundantly stocked. The Harmon-Ising cartoon in yesterday’s post reminded us that the fight for Spring isn’t over. Old Man Winter doesn’t like to quit. When I got my first house and garden, I had a tendency to plant things too early because I was so excited about how pretty everything would look. Too early means a late freeze can wreak havoc. I’ve learned to wait a bit longer. Mother Nature teaches us patience and cycles, and I’m hearing her better now.
Fairy Gardens
How about a small-scale gardening project that’s on the fanciful side? Fairy gardens are adorable, and the kids will have fun putting them together. All you need is a large flat dish, an old red wagon or wheelbarrow, or anything that will be self-contained and provide drainage. Add small-scale decorations and plants that won’t get too big. Fairies are small, you know. It’s a fun project that will only take a little while to put together, and the kids will have fun watching the plants grow. And who knows? They may even spot a fairy! I found this adorable video where young Amanda demonstrates all the homey comforts of her fairy garden, including an infirmary.

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”-Lao Tzu

That’s wonderful! One of my goals for this coming year is to cultivate awarness and slow. down. I think I’ll pin this to my forehead, just to remind myself.

I posted it on The Quotable Tarot as the Queen of Pentacles. I haven’t put anything there in months.
